Abbietails started with one dog — my rescue, Bonnie. Rehabilitating her taught me everything about reactive dogs. What it didn't teach me was how to run a business.
In the early days my income was all over the place. I said yes to every enquiry because I was frightened of the quiet months. I priced by the hour, undersold myself, and worked far too hard for far too little.
So I did what I'd done for Bonnie: I studied it properly. Sales psychology, positioning, packaging, pricing — and I turned it into a system I could actually use as a working trainer.
Today Abbietails runs on packaged programmes, residential intensives, online courses and recurring income — and I choose the clients I work with, rather than the other way round.
